Municipal Church St. Thomas Tribsees

A churchly jewel is the St. Thomas Church in Tribsees, which was built in the Gothic style around 1320 and characterizes the cityscape. Fires and different religious orientations formed the inside and outside. Later a neo-Gothic conversion followed. Most precious interior is the carved 'Mühlenaltar' from the second quarter of the 15th century.

A churchly jewel is the St. Thomas Church in Tribsees, which was built in the Gothic style around 1320 and characterizes the cityscape. Fires and different religious orientations formed the inside and outside. Later a neo-Gothic conversion followed. In 1702 the church burned out. Only the carved 'Mühlenaltar', a sculptural representation of an eucharistic mill from the second quarter of the 15th century, could get saved. Today it's the most precious interior. The mill was a really famous motive of the Cistercians, who carried out the patronage over this church from the cloister 'Neuenkamp'. When opened, the altar is 5,50 m wide and 2,12 m high. Beside this unique piece the 'Lübecker Kanzelstück' from 1577, a baroque crucifixion group from 1710 and a 'Buchholz-Orgel' from 1831, which got restored in 1996, can be lionized in the St. Thomas Church.
An accession of the church tower is possible after the registration in the ministry.
